Informal Coalitions - The book (2/2)
The book has its roots in Chris Rodgers's background as a practising manager in UK industry and as a management consultant to both private- and public-sector organisations. It is further underpinned by insights he gained as part of a master's degree in managing change.
The informal coalitions approach therefore draws on a deep understanding of organisations from the inside, as well leading-edge thinking on the complex dynamics of organisational change and performance.
The central proposition of Informal Coalitions is that the primary action tool of all managers is talk - in the broadest sense of the word. This is the case whether they are using talk to interact with others, or as part of the inner dialogue that informs their own managerial judgement. Informal Coalitions will help them to use that tool more insightfully and effectively, to influence the content, dynamics and outcome of change within their organisations.
